Part 2 of 6
Durga, a Hindu Goddess, is a form of Devi, the supreme goddess. She is sometimes referred to as the mother of Kartik, and Ganesh only. Some religions say she is an incarnation of Laxmi with the help of Saraswati and Parvati. The form of Durga was created as a warrior goddess to fight the demon Mahishasura. Since he could only be slain by a woman, Durga was formed, blindingly beautiful, riding on the back of a lion, and she killed Mahishasura with her trident. This is the second of a six piece portfolio for Independent Study in Digital Drawing, with piece examining a uniquely feminine trait as represented by a goddess. Durga represents rage. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. Semantics aside... I adore both of the ones you've posted so far! The style is very dynamic and I just love the way you're coloring them. Plus, it's awesome getting to learn about deities from places other than the typical Greek , Roman and sometimes Norse pantheons.
